She's back!!! You may remember McKenna from her "Cowgirl" photoshoot. There just really are no words that describe how amazing and talented this girl is. It was an honor to get to shoot her senior portraits. We went out to this old abandoned gas station, complete with peeling paint, and she rocked her session! It was just way too much fun! Thank you McKenna! By the way, I have to mention that I did not touch her skin, eyes or teeth in photoshop - they are all her own gorgeousness!

So, I go over to my brother's house, planning to do my older niece's photoshoot today. I sat down on the couch, waiting for her to get ready. All I did was put my camera bag in my lap and start to unzip it and my younger niece jumps up off the couch and exclaims, "WAIT! I have to go change my outfit first!!!!!!" Off she went and came out in this dress and ballet slippers, ready for pictures! These are all her poses. I just followed her lead! She is quite something! I could watch her all day long!

She wanted a picture with her sister. So, she plopped down and "H" followed her cue.....

I just wanted to say "thank you" to all my clients for a great 2009! I have really enjoyed the people that I have met and the time I have spent with them. And I also want to say thank you to my family and friends who have supported me and encouraged me as I have gone on this journey. I want to say a special thanks to my brother, who is also a photographer and has inspired me and has been nothing but a positive voice in my life. I am looking forward to this year and have already started with a new look to my logo, marketing pieces, packaging and as you can see, my blog header. Jeremy Camp just wrapped up another tour, with his last concert here! His is someone not to be missed! I've been to several concerts by christian artists, but there is just something different about Jeremy. He is all about Jesus Christ. While Jeremy is on stage singing his heart out, it is not about him at all. He remains the most humble servant. As he sits on the edge of the stage with his Bible, he reminds us all that our purpose in this world is for Jesus and nothing else. That none of the worldly things of this life matter, only how we are using this time to serve Him. At one point during the concert, it got quiet and someone yelled, "We love you, Jeremy!!" And he humbly responded, "But do you love Jesus?" He shows images of the Crucifixion of Christ as he sings the words, "Would you take the place of this Man? Would you take the nails from His hands?" I am reminded of the blood Christ shed for me. There just are no words to describe how spiritually fulfilling his concerts are. I leave hoping that I can be even half the humbled servant that he is. That in my everyday life, I can keep my focus on Jesus Christ and be a better servant to Him in everything that I do.

I am an admirer of Chris and Greg over at Motofish Images. Their work is incredible! Very creative! So, I asked Rick if he would be a willing subject and let me have some fun playing around with this kind of photography. My shots don't compare to Motofish Images, but I still had fun trying!

Rick is an amazing athlete. He's been competing in triathlons since 1996, and has 10 overall wins. He did an Ironman race in Couer d' Alene in 2006. He is also on the "Raise the Bar" team - they compete in triathlons, running and cycling events.

A beautiful bride, a handsome groom, a gorgeous location and view - all the makings of a perfect day for Brandon and Jessica. I don't think I've ever seen two people so in love. Their ceremony was beautiful! They each wrote their own vows - Brandon had the entire place in tears (including me!). It was just a beautiful day and I'm lucky I got to be a part of it!

Brandon and Jessica's Engagements

Brandon knows my hubby through work, and when they asked me to shoot their wedding, I was ecstatic! I got to meet them for the first time to shoot some engagement shots down at a waterfront park that is special to them. They are the nicest couple! and you can see how in love they are! And, as a bonus, Brandon gets to become a step dad to the adorable miss "M"! She was hilarious during their shoot! Every time we did kissing shots, she would stand beside me and say, "OMG!! That is so gross!" We are looking forward to your wedding day!

My little niece just celebrated her 2nd birthday! She is SO adorable! She's already such a girl. She changes her outfits 5 to 6 times a day and loves to have her fingernails and toenails painted. When I asked her if she was ready to have her pictures taken, she gave me a big, "YEAH!". She did such a good job! I know there's a lot on this post, but I couldn't help myself. She's SO cute!

My niece and her cousin had their recitals last weekend. They were so fun to watch! My niece rocked the stage! She wants to go to Julliard School of the Arts in New York. This kiddo got a ball pitched right into his arm. It left the imprint of the ball and broke the capillaries in his arm in the pattern of the seam's stitches.

2009's Most "Barked About" Fundraiser!

I was honored to be asked to be on the volunteer photography team for the Seattle Humane Society's annual "Tuxes and Tails" charity event. The evening included dinner, a silent auction, a live auction, and a Celebrity Pet & Fashion Show! They raised $600,000, part of which goes to saving the lives of animals that are on death row at other facilities.

This is my first of, I hope, many senior sessions. This girl is beautiful both inside and out. She's been homeschooled her whole life by wonderful parents. She sings and plays the guitar (self-taught!). She strummed a little tune by the Jonas Bros. during our shoot! She also plays the piano and acts. She is currently rehearsing for the play "High School Musical". WOW! I had too much fun with her and her mom! THANK YOU!

If you're ever in Seattle, I HIGHLY recommend stopping at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory! Even if you don't go in, just stop and take a look in the window at all the amazing different caramel apples. They are beautiful! Then I dare ya not to go in!

This guy was sitting in the corner taking his smoke break. I love the lighting and the mood it gives to the image. And my Nikon D90 is AMAZING! This shot is straight out of the camera. I just did a b&w conversion on it. I almost feel cheated because I didn't get to "play" with it much in my post-processing. But, I guess that's a good thing.

Young Ol' Lady

This is my 85 year old mother-in-law. She really is amazingly healthy. She could probably run circles around me! She's had quite a life and a very interesting childhood. Two of her brothers went off to fight for our country in WWII and one of them lost his life. You can still see the pain of that loss when she talks about him. She decided to go into nursing and spent most of her career in the cancer care unit at Swedish Hospital. Not a job I could do. I have to commend her for it. She is still full of spunk! I hope to have half that much energy when I get to be her age.

I have enjoyed my time off with my family these past several weeks! But, I have missed my camera terribly! I have some really fun photoshoots coming up this year that I'm looking forward to. I also have a couple of weddings this summer! I'm excited for what the year will bring!

My friend's beautiful boat is going to be featured in the November issue of "Sea Magazine". I was honored that he asked me to do the photos. It was hard work having to go out on a boat on a warm summer evening. But, somebody has to do it!!!! Thank you! I had so much fun!!!!
